Hello!

I'll write in English since the call for applications is in English. I am noy currently a member of a youth NGO, but I do have experience in the field of youth volunteering and my goal is to set up an NGO that offers free psychological counseling to young people.I am currently employed and I am a 3rd year student, so I don't have time to volunteer..but I want to keep in touch with the NGO environment. Could I be elegible for participation in the summer camp?

We take into consideration mainly applications from active volunteers, that have the possibility to implement what they are learning within their organizations.

Hello to everyone! I would like to apply for the camp this year so I'm just writing a short description of my activities in the NGO sector abroad and in Romania. I am the project coordinator of the Local Council of Youth Braila and my activites are as follow.
I organised and supervised various projects developed by the organisation (distribution of aid for the people affected by the floods, cleaning of various public spaces, painting of park fences, disseminating information for the general public). In June 2005 I was the reprezentative of my organisation at the NGO reunion organised by the umbrella organisation PALTIN. The reunion gathered 100 reprezentatives from 40 member organisations around the country. It’s purpose was to exchange experience and diseminate information gathered from conferences or trainings at which they had participated in the country or abroad. In August 2005 I have organised an antiracism camp in the Macin Mountains. People of different religions (Christians, Jews, Muslims) and of different ethnic backgrounds (Romas, Ucrainians, Russsians, Turks, Americans, Romanians) took part in it. . In Christmas 2005 I was involved in the distribution of presents for young children belonging to poor families in my community. In ferbuary 2006 I co-organised an antidrug project in Ankara with The National Youth Federation from Turkey and 2 other organisations from Poland and Bulgaria. The project involved the making of a short film with an antidrud message in which I played one of the main characters. After the film was finished it was distributed in primary and secondary schools and broadcast on TV stations in the four participating countries. On 22nd of March 2006, with the ocasion of the World Water Day I organised a protest with kindergarden children against water polution in my town. 4 kindergardens and my organisation participated and we marched through the town before stopping in front of the major’s hall. There the children sang songs about nature protection and passed their messages on to the the local public. On the 12 of May 2006 I co-organised a forum in the city hall which gathered young people from different high-schools to meet with the presidents of the biggest NGOs in Romania and with local authorities and senators. The forum had the topic of “Youth in the EU” and young people had all their questions regartding the EU answered to.
Hoping I didn't bore you very much, I'm waiting to get an answer for you soon. I am interested in the workshop about desasters. Bye!

Since English is the official language of the camp, you must be able to understand it and use it for communicating with the other participants.

This summer camp is the best offer I`ve got for this summer. This is an excelent idea for NGO`s volonteers to spend some quality time together, to learn new things, to develop longtime relations between them. I hope that during the camp, I will discover new values and new meanings to life. "This will be the begining of a new relationship..."
